Spanky is my best, little friend...a black and tan miniature dachshund.  I've had him since he was 6 weeks old, and he's so ingrained into my life that it's nearly impossible to think of a world without him. He's only little on the outside...he has a HUGE heart and attitude.

He's jam-packed with joie de vivre and always has love to spare. However, you may not want him to be so close to you as he has one of the most foul-odours I've ever experienced.   In spite of that enormous shortcoming, though, he's the best little dog EVER.

It's tough to have to patrol the visual world and he does it with great panache. No one is safe from his "You're treading on my turf...you better have a cookie!" barks and ankle licks. He's got us wrapped around his little paw. Oh yes, he sure does!

Feeling sad? He's there to cheer you up.

Feeling cold? He's there to warm you up.

Bored? He's a never-ending source of entertainment and comic relief.

Everyone who's ever met him has fallen hopelessly in love and there are enough amusing anecdotes about Spanky encounters to fill a book. Just ask anyone who's had the pleasure of his acquaintance! :-)
