MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING
Ado as a 2 year old Ado was born June 1st, 1994 at Rempel Paints and Quarter Horses just outside of Brandon, Manitoba. She's a PMU success story being the offspring of a Belgian/TB (possibly) mare and a Paint roping stallion. I saw her for the first time a week after her 1st birthday and bought her on the spot. A week later, our life together began, and it's been quite an adventure ever since. In spite of a rocky beginning (she had never been introduced to humans before I bought her), she's turned out to be a terrific partner. She's bigger than your average saddle horse (somewhere in between a Volkswagen and an elephant), wears a 60'' girth, and finding a properly fitting saddle is an ongoing process, but we do the best with what we've got. She's mostly well-behaved, is mostly unflappable (except when other horses are acting up...that's her Achilles' heel), and eats pretty much everything she can get her lips around. Sometimes I wonder whether she's really a horse or some alien from another planet! When she's not lounging around being Queen of Her Pasture, she's a great pleasure horse. Look for us in the eventing and horse trial arenas. Dressage isn't our strong point as she's built downhill, but she's a jumping machine! And I'd love to get her in front of a carriage and see how she goes in harness. We're versatile...we'll do just about anything. I can't say enough good things about Ado, so for now I'll just leave you with another picture :-) |
