MEET BERNARD!

The entire house has been in mourning for Spanky, and while us 2-leggers are able equipped to deal with it, it has been especially hard on Valentine. She plays and carries on like her regular self, but every now and again she'll start moping and will lay in the living room and stare at where Spanky's bed used to be for a few hours. She really misses her stinky old man.

I was very reluctant to start looking for other dogs, as I somehow felt it would be a betrayal to Spanky's memory to "replace" him. However, I eventually realized that nothing could replace Spanky...he was a total original, and his memory will live as long and well as he did. One day, though, something told me that I needed to log onto PetFinder.com and there was a puppy staring back at me. His photo seemed to say "Valentine, will you please play with me?". He had such a beguiling look on his face, and I did the deed....I called the listed number.

Long story short (and one filled with a weekend of stomach butterflies), we brought home an incredibly adorable little Aussie cross pup. He's 8 weeks old and has already wormed his way into our hearts.

Without further ado, I introduce you to the newest addition to the Livingston home: Bernard!
